Hello dudesndivorce.com dudes! Todays’ post is named in honor of Bill’s favorite music form-DISCO!!!
No, I am just teasing my best friend!
What I would like to discuss is a similar theme to my recent posts that I think is important regardless if you are trying to prevent divorce in your current marriage and romance is an issue (or rather, lack of it) or you have begun again and do not wish to repeat the mistakes of the past and you choose to do what you can to make your next relationship successful in the romance arena.
And that is, keeping the dream alive or keeping the romance alive. This is so important yet somehow gets overlooked so easily in todays society. Yes, I know and understand you are busy and your life may be hectic. Maybe you and your loved one may even work opposing schedules, thus increasing the pressure on your already scant time together. I hope your time with your honey has not been reduced to a quick peck on the cheek, accompanied by a few brief bullet statements that are more akin to instructions regarding the house or finances or kids, etc. in passing than any real time together.
But if it has, please, for your own sake, for her sake, for your relationships sake find some time (make some time occasionally if you need to) to be together. To just be the two of you for a little while. To not talk about the bills, the house, the chores, or any of that stuff that hangs about your head constantly waiting for you to address it. That’s there, it always will be (read Bill’s post “It’ll Wait”). Now is the time for you two to visit again what it was like to be alone together, to enjoy each others company, to forget about the outside world if only for a short time and renew yourselves in something truly invigorating-your own loving relationship.
Hold hands, gaze into each other eyes, whisper in her ear, or just sit on a picnic table together and look at the stars on a clear night.
Sometimes, even though your busy, just stop and look at her and tell her “I love you” or “I’ll miss you today” or just stop and give her a long kiss. Heck, if nothin’ else it’ll surprise the bejesus out of her!
Good luck, guys! See ya later,
Russ
